“A-Train – Elephant Dance (Free The World)”

a-train_350Jazz, Rock and World Music all put together in an artful way. Each piece tells its own story and takes you on a journey that is full of adventure and powerful twists and turns. It features some great performances from Ray Gomez on guitar (from Stanley Clarke’s “School Days” album) and Alex Foster on Soprano and Tenor Sax famous for his days as tenor saxist on the classic “Saturday Night Live” show. Some great performances by Aiyb Dieng on percussion (recorded with Rolling Stones Mick Jagger’s solo project, She’s the Boss, Brian Eno, Jon Hassell, Bob Marley and Ginger Baker) Ted Myerson’s compositions all take you journeying through exciting roller coaster rides and extreme beauty with his powerful bass lines as on “Step This Way” and tasty Indian lines on the twelve string guitar almost sounding like a sitar  on “Elephant Dance”. I hear influences of Charles Mingus, Joe Zawinul, Miles Davis and Pat Metheny. Ted Myerson’s music is rhythmical and melodically advanced but held together with memorable lines and structure you want to ride on. If you like music that takes you somewhere exotic and fulfilling this music is definitely for you!

“For Petes’ Sake”

“For Pete”s Sake” is a collection of music I recorded with the late and I might say great, Peter Ganosellis. These tunes were all recorded during recording engineer classes at Unity Gain Studios in Fort Myers Florida. We would go in and start laying down improvised tracks – first me playing bass with Pete on drums – then I might play guitar and Pete might lay down a synth line or percussion and so on until we had a finished tune or the class would end. I love the spirit of this music

Happy Listening
